List of Pleasurable Activities (CBT)

Behavioural Activation is a strategy used in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to help people who are feeling depressed. When someone is depressed, they often stop doing things they used to enjoy, which can make them feel even worse. Behavioural Activation works by encouraging people to start doing those enjoyable or meaningful activities again, even if they don’t feel like it at first. The idea is that by getting back into these positive routines, people can lift their mood and feel more accomplished. It’s all about taking small steps to reconnect with the activities that bring joy and purpose, helping to break the cycle of depression.

This can mean recommencing something old, getting to something you thought you might do ‘some day’ or even trying new things.

Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) is available from our Geelong Psychologist. Contact us to book a session or to make a referral.
